Pescennius Niger, 193-194. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 2.71 g, 6 h), Antiochia. IMP CAES C PESCEN NIGER IVST AV Laureate head of Pescennius Niger to right. Rev. FORTVNAE RE Fortuna seated left, holding patera in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. BMC 301† var. = Cohen 21 var. = RIC 20 var. (wreath instead of cornucopiae). A very rare variety. Nicely toned and unusually complete. Slightly porous, otherwise, good very fine.
